Electric Wire News! Sign Section 179 Petition! 2/17/2015

NJECA Electric Wire News Announcement! 2/17/2015

News Brief from NJECA

Petition Congress to Keep Section 179 at $500,000 for 2015

Small and Medium businesses, which are the lifeblood of the U.S. Economy, are the biggest beneficiaries of Section 179. In short, this tax deduction encourages them to invest in their businesses by buying new (or new to them) equipment. Section 179 is good for the companies that use the deduction to buy needed equipment, it’s good for the equipment manufacturers who they buy from, and it’s good for the overall economy.

But in recent years, Congress has let the Section 179 deduction shrink, only to raise it again at the last minute (which, despite the increase being retroactive, causes many businesses to miss out.) It was recently raised to $500,000 during the last two weeks of 2014, but has again fallen to $25,000 for 2015.

By signing the petition, you will be letting Congress know you favor the $500,000 Section 179 deduction being reinstated as early as possible in 2015.
